Virtual Steel Technologies specializes in the complex and hard to do projects that also require intense collaboration from design through erection.  The Tyson Plaza Project, at Tysons Corner Virginia, required extensive knowledge base of existing building interface construction, critical crane placement, dimensional field verifications and adjustments, complex geometry in steel design and sequential erection technique.  This high profile project consisted of steel infill and bridge over a major 4 lane thoroughfare connecting the Tyson Corner Shopping Mall with a new 26 story office complex and new 32 story residential building.  The primary focus was on the 140-ton plate girders that required a carefully choreographed 2 crane erection.  Traffic patterns had to remain open during the daylight hours from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm.  This required the cranes to be removed each morning and replaced each night at a new location to optimize that nights erection.  This project is one where experience paid off and erected flawlessly.
